Many people with chronic pain have tried a variety of treatments without experiencing any success. If that’s you, you’re probably discouraged—but we can help. Our team at ProFysio Physical Therapy offers a variety of treatment to help chronic pain sufferers get their lives back, and EPAT is one of the most effective.

What Is EPAT and How Does it Work?

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment (EPAT) is an FDA-approved pain remedy that improves metabolism and the flow of blood and nutrients to the site of your pain by emitting pressure waves down through the skin. EPAT works well for people experiencing muscular or skeletal pain and for those who are currently working to recovery from a surgery or injury. In some cases, it has even helped shorten recovery time by allowing the body to heal faster.

EPAT therapy is quick, effective, and minimally-invasive, making it a great option for people suffering from chronic pain. Treatments last only a few minutes each and the experience is much like receiving an ultrasound, except that the applicator emits pressure waves over the affected area. Our patients begin to see positive results within 3-5 therapy sessions.

EPAT therapy can be used to treat a variety of types of chronic pain, including:

  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tendonitis
  • Other musculoskeletal pain
