Get the Assistance You Need to Access the Help You Deserve

Many physical therapy clinics across the country are now offering patients the opportunity to be transported to their office in situations where they cannot drive themselves. Because of the nature of our business, many of the patients who need our services the most have issues getting themselves to their necessary appointments. At ProFysio Physical Therapy, we do not believe this should prevent those patients from getting the necessary physical therapy services they deserve. That’s why we offer complimentary transportation for patients who need assistance getting to their appointments. Some of the patients who might require this service include:

  • Any patients with injuries or sports injuries that prevent driving
  • Patients with certain neurological conditions that severely affect the nervous system and the ability to drive
  • Patients who have undergone operations with side effects or medications that inhibit their ability to drive
  • Patients who are prescribed certain medications, like painkillers, that temporarily inhibit their ability to drive

We offer this service through Uber Health, and it is a complimentary part of each patient’s treatment plan. We offer round trip front-door services that is reliable and on-demand. Our cars also include an encrypted system designed to protect your privacy, and we take care of the scheduling for ease.

When You Should Avoid Driving

Not sure if you’re fit to drive? When in doubt, it’s best to avoid it. The last thing you want to do is risk your safety to get to an appointment. With our complementary transportation service, you never have to. If you are not sure whether you are fit to drive, check out some of the situations below that should definitely prevent you from getting behind the wheel:

  • When you’re sick

Although we recommend rescheduling your appointment if you are coming down with an illness, because we are a doctor’s office, some of the conditions we treat can be associated with some unpleasant, sickly symptoms. If you are feeling sick, this can affect your reflexes and your ability to stay focused on the road. It’s best to avoid driving until you feel better.

  • When you’re severely tired or emotional

Certain mental states might prevent you from being able to drive properly. In addition, certain medications that are associated with physical therapy conditions might prevent you from being awake enough to drive. What ever the case may be, our transportation team is here to help.

  • If you are not confident about driving in the current weather conditions

Some patients might be comfortable driving under most situations, but perhaps certain weather makes it more difficult to drive with their bodily conditions. It’s not our job to control the weather, but we have made it our job to get you from point A to point B and back! Take advantage of this service and ride with us if you do not feel comfortable driving in the current weather.

  • When your car needs a service

Just like our bodies have issues that require physical therapy, sometimes our vehicles require a little TLC too. It’s not a good idea to drive in a vehicle that needs serviced, but it’s also not a good idea to miss your physical therapy appointment, especially if you are struggling with an ongoing bodily issue. Although our transportation team doesn’t know much about fixing cars, we are experts in driving them, and can help you out while your car is being fixed.

Before you get assistance with transportation to your appointment, you’ll need to schedule one with our team. Call us at (732) 812-5200 or contact us online if you need physical therapy services.
